Saints compete at Bob Hayes Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Flagler College men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Bob Hayes Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. on Friday and Saturday.
  
The Saints had entries in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. As well as field entries in the long jump, shot put, discus and javelin.
 
Ryan Sen, Sam Adebonojo and Sam Hummer ran in the 100m dash. Sen placed 11th with a time of 11.16, Adebonojo in 15th with a time of 11.21 and Hummer behind him in 17th with a time of 11.25. Hummer and Sen also ran in the 200m dash with Ian McGrorty. This time, Hummer finished first out of the three with a 14th place finish and a time of 22.66. Sen (23.27) and McGrorty (23.40) finished in 20th and 23rd, respectively.
 
The 400m dash saw Malachi South (50.81) and Xander Cunningham (51.37) place sixth and eighth. Houston Harper finished seventh in the 800m with a time of 1:57.91.
 
Seven Saints competed in the 1500m: Kaleb Hollins, Luke Larkin, Brandon Knieja, Logan Burch, Zach Brainerd, Max Bowlin and Joshua Sea. Hollins finished third with a time of 3:52.68, Larkin (3:54.42) and Knieja (3:54.52) finished behind him in fifth and sixth. Rounding out the top 25 were Burch (4:02.77) in 17th, Brainerd (4:04.67) in 19th, Bowlin (4:09.03) in 23rd and Sea (4:10.19) in 25th.
 
The 5000m saw the best finish for the Saints with Joel Nesi (14:38.19) placing first and Jon Eide (14:43.09) behind him in second. Finnian Russell was close behind in fourth with a time of 14:49.98. Rounding out the top 15 were Dieumerci Ufitimana (15:21.32) in 11th, Will Stone (15:22.04) in 12th and Miquel Fons (15:26.05) in 14th. The rest of the Saints all finished in the top 25: Francisco Ramirez (15:29.69), Logan Seifert (15:33.29) and Ethan Tank (15:39.81).
 
In the hurdles segment, Caden Vann placed fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.27. David Stanley (59.35) and Conner Hall (1:02.36) finished in 8th and 11th, respectively, in the 400 hurdles.
 
The relay team of Camara, Cunningham, Harper and South finished third in the 4x400 with a time of 3:24.61. The 4x100 team of Adebonojo, Hummer, Sen and Vann placed fourth with a time of 42.88.
 
In the field events, McGrorty and Amonyay Prichard competed in the long jump. McGrorty placed 14th with a 5.82m jump and Prichard in 21st with a 5.45m jump. Casey Wood placed first in the shot put with a 15.19m mark and 9th in the discus with a 35.56m throw. Jude Daly placed seventh in the shot put with a 12.83m mark and 12th in the discus with a 30.60m throw. Competing in javelin was Aaron Dolton who finished 13th with a 30.61m throw.

The Saints travel to Orlando, Fla. for the UCF Knights Invite on March 15-16.
