Sharale McCormick scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the second half as Flagler College lost to Clayton State University 76-44 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Wednesday evening at The Loch.
Clayton State improved to 14-10 overall and 9-6 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 6-19 overall and 3-12 in conference play.
The Lakers opened the game on a 9-2 run and never looked back.
Audrey McElhaney led a balanced scoring attack for Clayton State with 13 points and she grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Diamond Swift added 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. She sank four 3-pointers. Jada Francois Lubin tacked on 11 points.
The Lakers forced 28 Saints turnovers and scored 34 off the miscues.
Taylor Gardner grabbed eight rebounds for Flagler.
Flagler hosts Augusta University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
