DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University scored five runs in two innings to pull away and defeat Flagler College 7-1 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday night at Sliwa Stadium.
Embry-Riddle evened its record to 18-18 while Flagler is now 18-21.
The Saints pushed across the first run of the game.
Trey Newland opened the game with a base hit and
Mason Gray followed with a double down the left field line.
John Fiorenza lifted a fly ball to right field to score Newland.
The Eagles scored the equalizer in the second inning and took the lead in the third on Alex Britton's run-scoring double.
Jeremy Kennedy-Davis added a two-run double in the fifth and a two-run single in the sixth for insurance. He finished the night 2-for-4 with four runs batted in and he scored a run.
J.C. Carrell (2-1) scattered four hits and allowed one run over six innings to earn the win for Embry-Riddle.
Garrett Bogart collected a pair of singles, scored a run and drove in another.
Nick Phifer (0-1) tossed four innings and allowed two runs on two hits.

Anthony Nofi and
Brad Vondruska worked in relief.
Luke Welborn and
Matthew Burke each hit a single for the Saints.
Flagler returns to Peach Belt Conference play on Thursday against Georgia Southwestern State University at 6 p.m. at Drysdale Field.
