TEMPE, Ariz. – The Flagler College women's tennis team boasts three singles players and two doubles teams amongst the best in the nation as the ITA Division II national rankings sponsored by Tennis Point were released this afternoon.
Luisa Hrda, a senior, is ranked No. 6 while junior
Nadja Meier is No. 13.
Dana Heimen, a sophomore, checks in at No. 30.
Hrda is coming of a fall season where she posted a 10-3 record, which included winning the ITA Southeast Region title and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the ITA Cup. Meier turned in a 9-2 record and Heimen went 7-1.
The doubles team of Hrda and
Eryka Kruk are ranked No. 6. They won the ITA Southeast Regional as they were match up against Meier and Heimen. Both tandems participated in the ITA Cup with Hrda and Kruk advancing to the quarterfinal round. Hrda and Kruk posted a 7-1 record this fall. Heimen and Meier went 5-2 and is ranked No. 10.
In the Southeast Region ranking, Hrda tops the list of 20 players and is followed by Meier (No. 2), Heimen (No. 6) and Kruk (No. 8). In doubles, the Saints boast the top two teams – Hrda/Kruk (No. 1) and Heimen/Meier (No. 2).
Flagler opens the spring season in February.
