ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College volleyball team hosted their fourth Crimson and Gold intrasquad scrimmage tonight at Flagler Gymnasium.
The 2018 team was split into two teams, Crimson and Gold, and featured alum
Emilee Taylor who starred for the Saints from 2010-13.
Karlie Redfern, the 2017 AVCA and Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year, led the Crimson squad with 14 kills and seven total blocks.
Raquel Kulak added 10 kills, hit .350 and recorded six total blocks.
Rachel Machovec added eight kills and 11 digs.
Tara Savisky tallied 37 assists and had three aces.
Kayla Norelli gathered 15 digs.
The Gold team was led by Taylor's seven kills.
Morgan Hall collected 12 digs while
Rachel Porada added 17 assists.
Flagler, ranked No. 25 in the AVCA Division II Preseason Top 25, will open the season on Friday (Aug. 24) against Erskine College at noon. That will be the second match of the day in the Flagler Saints Invitational, which features No. 3 University of Minnesota Duluth, Saint Leo University, and the University of Findlay.
