Box Score 2 AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College and Augusta University split a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader on Monday at Jaguar Field and the results could not vary any more. The Saints won the opener 11-1 while the Jaguars took game two 8-0 in six innings.
Flagler leaves with a 23-22 overall record and a 7-9 mark in the Peach Belt. Augusta is 17-29 overall and 8-10 in conference play.
In the opener, the Saints wasted little time in getting the offense in high gear. Flagler erupted for seven runs on seven hits in the first inning.
Morgan Murphy had the big hit of the inning, a three-run home run to give Flagler a 4-0 lead.
Tracy Caccavale added a pinch hit two-run single later.
Ally Marcano and
Katlyn McCue (14-10) split time in the circle. McCue tossed four scoreless innings in relief to earn the victory. Marcano started and went three innings and allowed an unearned run.
Flagler collected a season-high 15 hits and was led by
Genevieve Mangini, who went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and one run batted in, and
Tatum Morgan, who had four singles and one RBI.
Natalie Murphy went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI.

Morgan Hunter (11-15) did not record an out in the first inning as she allowed four earned runs on four hits. Jada Jackson went the rest of the way for Augusta.
Carolyn Edwards collected two singles for the Jaguars. Regan Norfleet hit a double and scored the lone Jaguars' run.
In game two, Courtney Browne (4-9) tossed a five-hit shutout to lead Augusta to the win. She induced 10 fly outs and seven ground outs.
Browne got all of the offense she needed in the first inning Lydia Hausman's sacrifice fly to left scored Auburn Balcorta, who led off the inning with a walk.
Balcorta added a two-run home run in the second. She finished the game 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI.
The game ended in the bottom of the sixth when Edwards hit an RBI double to right field to invoke the mercy rule.
McCue (14-11) started for the Saints and last one and one-third innings. She allowed three runs on one hit with three walks.
Ally Marcano finished the game.
Garland Evans collected two singles for the Saints.
Flagler hosts Florida Southern College on Wednesday (April 18) at 5 p.m. at Flagler Field in the last non-conference game of the season.
