Box Score FLORENCE, S.C. – No. 4 (Oracle/ITA Division II) Armstrong State University held off a rally by No. 8 Flagler College for a 5-3 win in a Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinal match Saturday morning at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.

Armstrong State (22-3) won its eighth match in a row and will advance to tomorrow's conference championship match against No. 7 Columbus State University at 9 a.m. Flagler (19-4) will now wait for an at-large berth selection to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. Due to the threat of impending weather for Sunday, only the men's and women's conference championships will be played.

In doubles, Kelly Burge and Mary Jo Nanti kept their winning ways going with an 8-2 win over Tatjana Stoll and Lenka Styblova. Burge and Nanti have won five matches in a row.

Trailing 2-1 through doubles, the Saints faced match point after Nanti and Burge took losses in singles. Lizanne Jinkertz, ranked No. 39 in Division II, won her third match over a nationally ranked opponent when she rolled past No. 17 Stoll, 6-3 and 6-4. Patrycja Maslanka also posted a straight sets win in singles with a 6-4 and 6-3 win over Alice Patch, but Tamri Chalaganidze got by Felicitas Runkel 6-3 and 6-4 to clinch the match.
