Kruk, Lomenzo, and Ondobo named to academic all-district team

ST. AUGUSTINE – Eryka Kruk, Ornella Lomenza, and Elena Ondobo were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® women's tennis team, according to a release Tuesday afternoon.

This was Kruk's third consecutive academic all-district honor.

Kruk, a senior from Minsk, Belarus, holds a 3.82 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in business. On the court, Kruk finished with an overall singles record of 29-10, which includes a 17-7 mark this spring. She went 17-7 at No. 1 singles and had a 5-5 record against nationally-ranked opponents. In doubles, Kruk went 18-19 overall and 11-15 this spring. She was 4-10 at No. 1 doubles and 7-5 at No. 2. Kruk was 9-5 when paired with Lea Jakic. She earned first team All-Peach Belt Conference honors in singles. She is ranked No. 18 in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for NCAA Division II. Kruk is a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar and a two-time academic all-conference selection along with receiving the D2 ADA award twice.

Lomenzo, a sophomore from Brussels, Belgium, has a 3.60 GPA and is majoring in business. She posted a 20-13 overall record in singles play this year and went 16-8 in dual matches. Lomenzo went 13-4 at No. 6 singles. She went 5-8 in doubles play.

Ondobo, a sophomore from Brussels, Belgium, has a 3.88 GPA and is majoring in international studies at Flagler. She posted a 32-6 record in singles play this year and went 19-4 in dual matches, all at No. 2 singles. She won her last 12 matches in a row and went 4-1 against nationally-ranked competition. Ondobo went 9-25 in doubles this year and was 5-18 in the spring. She earned first team all-conference honors in singles and made second team all-conference in doubles.    

Flagler finished the year with a 17-11 overall record and a 6-1 mark in the conference. The Saints lost in then conference tournament final and in the second match of the NCAA Division II Southeast Region No. 2 Tournament.
