ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − The Flagler College Saints and Florida Tech Panthers split a non-conference softball doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Saints Field. Flagler won the opener 6-2 and Florida Tech took game two 3-0.

Flagler is now 3-3 on the season while Florida Tech is 4-2.

In the opener, Kelly Riddick (Hampton, Fla./Central Florida CC) (2-1) tossed five innings, allowed four hits, one earned run and struck out eight. The day before, she tossed Flagler's first no-hitter vs. Ave. Maria.

Lauren Ely (Winter Springs, Fla./Winter Springs HS) singled, doubled and scored twice for the Saints while Brittney Hatem (Hialeah, Fla./Wallace CC-Dothan) belted her first home run of the season, a three-run shot, in the fourth inning. Stacy Piagno (St. Augustine, Fla./Pedro Menendez HS) scored twice.

Five of Flagler's six runs were unearned.

Tiffani Bishop (2-1) took the loss in the circle for the Panthers. She tossed four innings and allowed six hits and one earned run. Sarah Oram singled, tripled, scored a runs while Debbie Subocz singled, doubled and scored a run.

In game two, Florida Tech scored all the runs it would need in the second inning en route to a 3-0 win. Brianna Barth (2-1) went the distance and tossed a nine-hit shutout. She fanned five.

Subocz had an RBI single and Oram hit a two-run double to account for the Panther runs.

Oram went 2-for-4 with a single, a double and drove in two runs. Danielle Healy singld twice.

Kaycee Lisa (Seminole, Fla./Seminole HS) and Andy Hay (Land O' Lakes, Fla./Polk CC) each had three singles a piece. Kristen Chapman (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood HS) (1-2) went one and one-third innings and surrendered five hits and three earned runs.

Flagler will now embark on a 12-game rood trip starting Feb .19 at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Saints open with Tampa at 3 p.m. and Florida Tech at 7:30 p.m.
