ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Barry University (ITA/NCAA Division II) women's tennis team defeated 30th-ranked Flagler College 6-3 in a non-conference match Sunday morning. Barry won its third consecutive match to improve to 9-4 while Flagler slipped to 6-5.

Barry opened by sweeping all three doubles matches. The Bucs then went on to win the top three singles flights while Flagler earned its points by at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles played with pro sets.

Jennifer Saviano (Davie, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) defeated Laime Contreras 8-3 while Chelsea Taylor (Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Prep) defeated Mei-Jing Ang by the same score. Roxane Alt (Montreaux, Switzerland/Lewis & Clark CC) won 8-3 over Julie Cadet.

Flagler hosts the University of Montevallo tomorrow (Mar. 16) at 2:30 p.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
