ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Bryan Crouch (Jacksonville, Fla./Arlington Country Day School) ripped a bases loaded triple in the bottom of the eighth inning to cap a seven-run outburst in Flagler College's 10-9 come from behind win over Grand View College of Des Moines, Iowa in a non-conference baseball game Thursday night at Flagler Stadium.

Trailing 8-3 going into the bottom of the eight, Crouch opened the inning with a double to right-center. Shane Darnofall (Corry, Pa./Hillsborough CC) followed with a single to left sending Crouch to third. Preston Picard (Detroit, Mich./Madonna U.) added to the onslaught with a base hit to right allowing Crouch to score and courtesy runner Reno DiCarlantonio (Wellington, Fla./Cardinal Newman HS) to scamper around to third. Two batters later, pinch hitter Glenn Kiture (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater HS) hit a grounder to shortstop that was booted allowing DiCarlantonio to score and Picard advanced to second. Both runners moved up on the next play on a ground out. Pinch hitter Kenny Bargfeldt (Fishers, Ind./Ball State U.) reached on a fielding error by the Grand View second baseman moving Harrell, who was re-entered for Kiture, to third and Picard scored. Chris Guerra (Fremont, Calif./Mount Mercy College) added a single to center scoring Harrell and Bargfeldt moved on to second. The Saints pulled to within a run, 8-7. Kyle Heatherington came on in relief of starter Adam Sikkink and he was greeted by Randy Miller (Jacksonville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) who hit a grounder down the third base line that the Viking player could not find a handle to and all runners were safe. Crouch, batting for the second time in the inning, cleared the bases as he blasted a shot over the centerfielder's head all the way to the deepest part of the park for a triple, giving the Saints a 10-8 lead. In the inning, Grand View committed three errors which led to five unearned runs.

Grand View made a bid in the top of the ninth. Kevin McCaroll led off with a single to left. Two batters later, Jake Olson was hit by a pitch. Josh Lehrkamp followed with a sharp single to left to load the bases with one out. Paul Mathews (Baton Rouge, La./Saint Louis CC-Meramec) came on and got Dan Miller to fly out to left, McCarroll scored on the play and the Vikings were down 10-9 with two outs. Matt Ingle, who already had four hits on the night, grounded to shortstop for the force out at second base.

Crouch was a home run shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with the double and triple in the eighth, two runs scored and three RBI. Picard went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI for Flagler (22-14). Kris King (Youngstown, Ohio/Santa Fe CC) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the fourth inning. Mike Scott (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) collected a pair of singles.

Reliever Clark Hish (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton HS) (1-0) picked up his first collegiate win tossing three-plus innings allowing four hits and two runs. Mathews earned the save, his first in 18 relief appearances, by retiring the last two batters. He leads the NAIA in victories with seven.

Ingle went 4-for-6 with a double and a run scored for Grand View (11-4). Tyler Adams went 2-for-4, including a three-run homer in the fourth, scored two runs and drove in five. Olson collected three singles. Sikkink (1-1) went 7.2 innings, allowed 11 hits and five earned runs in picking up the loss for the Vikings.

Flagler College hosts Mount Mercy College of Cedar Rapdis, Iowa tomorrow (Mar. 24) at 7 p.m. at Flagler Stadium. Grand View visits NAIA national runner-up Embry-Riddle University tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Sliwa Stadium.
