Monika Kubai of the women's indoor track and field team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 29.

The Schaerding, Austria native broke the previous 3000m school record (10:10.55) at the Alachua County Collegiate Invitational last week in Gainesville, Fla. Kubai crossed the finish line at 9:59.59 to secure fifth overall. The meet include teams from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NAIA. Kubai currently holds the fastest time in the 3000m run in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region.
