Derick Garcia of the baseball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 10.

Garcia turned in another masterful performance as he tossed seven scoreless innings and fanned 12 batters in Flagler's win over Queens University of Charlotte. He only allowed four base runners and tossed an economical 88 pitches (68 strikes). Garcia retired the last 10 batters he faced.

He leads the PBC in strikeouts and is tied for first in wins. Garcia is third in innings pitched and fifth in strikeouts per game.
