Charlene Nowotny of the women's soccer team was selected as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Sleep Inn, for the month of October.

Nowotny was the athlete of the week during the month for the period ending Oct. 15.

Nowotny helped lead Flagler to a 1-0-1 week as she scored two goals. The Marburg, Germany native scored both goals last Saturday in Flagler's 2-0 win at Rollins College. She took a total of 10 shots with six on frame for a 60 percent accuracy mark last week.

Nowotny led the team with seven goals and tallied four assists for 18 points last month.
