Charlene Nowotny of the women's soccer team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 10.
Nowotny helped lead Flagler to a 2-0 week with a team-leading three goals, to go along with one assist, for seven points. The Marburg, Germany native scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-0 white-washing of Newberry College last Friday. On Sunday, Nowotny scored a pair of goals off set pieces, less than one minute a part to close out the first half in a 4-0 win over Catawba.
Nowotny leads the Peach Belt Conference with four goals and points with nine.
