Williesha "Shorty" Spencer of the women's basketball team was selected as the TraveLynx Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Mar. 3.

This is the second time this year (Jan. 27) that she was selected as the student-athlete of the week.

Spencer averaged 25.5 points per game and helped Flagler to a 1-1 week. She shot a sizzling 78.3% (18-23) from the field including 50% (3-6) from 3-point range. Spencer was spot on shooting free throws as she made 92.3% (12-13). She scored a season-high 27 points in the regular season finale last Saturday in an overtime loss to Augusta State. She made 10-of-her-14 shots from the field. Against Palm Beach Atlantic, Spencer made 8-of-9 from the field and finished with 24 points.

Spencer is near the top of the Peach Belt Conference in several categories. She is: third in free throws made (95) and free throw percentage (.805); fourth in field goals made (155), 3pt field goal percentage (.416) and points (437); fifth in assists (117); and sixth in points per game (16.8).
