Elin Karlsson of the women's golf team has been selected as the Student-Athlete of the Month sponsored by Courtyard and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott St. Augustine for the month of September. She earned Player of the Week honors on Sept. 19.

Karlsson finished third at the Queens Invitational on Sept. 14, just two shots back of the medalist. The tournament was held at the Dye Course at TPC Sawgrass. She carded the lowest round of the tournament, a 1-over par 73 playing on a course that was being groomed for a Nationwide Tour at the end of October. Karlsson was also selected the Peach Belt Conference's Women's Golfer of the Week.

Through two events this season, Karlsson is averaging 78.3 strokes per round, a 6-over relative to par.
