Garland Evans of the softball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending March 5.

The sophomore outfielder from Gainesville, Florida batted .500 this week with seven hits, including two doubles, five runs batted in and she scored five runs to lead Flagler to a 3-1 week. In the doubleheader against No. 6-ranked Valdosta State, Evans went 4-for-6 with two doubles, four RBI and had three runs scored. She collected three singles in the sweep of Young Harris in the PBC opener for Flagler.

Evans is fourth in the PBC in triples with two and sixth in games played (25). She is batting .315 with 23 hits, five doubles, 10 RBI and nine runs scored so far this year. Evans is a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.
