ST. AUGUSTINE—
Jordan Sheets (1-6) grabbed her first win of the season, and
Kiley McQuillan smashed a three-run homer for Flagler College in a 4-3 win in the second game against Augusta University in a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Flagler Field. August University won the first game, 6-5.
Flagler is now 8-19 overall and 4-4 in the Peach Belt. Augusta is 13-13 overall and 6-2 in conference play. The same two teams meet tomorrow at noon to conclude the series.
In game two,
Stephanie Daly had a double in the fourth to right center to push
Hannah Smith across to make the score 2-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Saints fought hard while being down 3-1. With two outs,
Raquelle Justice singled up the middle, followed by a single through the left side by
Annake Meadows. McQuillan smashed a three-run homer over the left field wall to take the lead 4-3 going into the last inning.
Smith went 3-for-3 with three singles and one run scored. Daly was 2-for-3 with one run batted in. McQuillan went 1-for-3, scoring one run and batting in three.
Sheets earning her first win of the 2026 season. Adding three more strikeouts to her record. She allowed three runs on nine hits and had one fly-out and 16 ground-outs.
Madalyn Spinks (5-3) allowed four runs on nine hits to get the loss.
Sydney Gilbert went 2-for-3 with two singles and two runs batted in. Chesney Miles also went 2-for-3 with two singles and scored once.
In game one, Flagler got ahead in the second inning when
Emily Ricci reached on an error to second which scored
Chloe Montalvo from second, making the score 3-2. After being down by one run in the fourth, Smith singled down the left field line to score Ricci to tie the game 4-4.
The Jaguars scored their go-ahead run in the fifth, which was unearned.
Kristyn Ezzo (3-4) came in for relief and grabbed the win for the Jaguars. She gave up two hits and allowed one run in four innings. Ezzo retired the last 10 batters in a row. She induced six fly-outs and four ground outs. Ansley Gibson started the game and threw three innings and allowed two runs from five hits.
Kaylynn Scaffe went 2-for-3, scored two batters in, and scored one run.
Riley Rowe (5-9) gave up four runs on six hits for the Saints. She produced eight flyouts and 13 groundouts.
Olivia Burns went 2-for-4 with two singles. Smith went 2-for-3 with one run batted in. Meadows also went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
