ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler volleyball team took on previously undefeated in the Peach Belt Conference, Augusta University.

Jeff Reynolds commented. "From start to finish we showed a great deal of poise, competitiveness, and focus to beat a very good team from Augusta." Reynolds added.
"It was nice to get a win over a previously undefeated Augusta. We know what they are capable of and so it's nice to have this one in the books." Reynolds said.
"Our focus is on winning the next game on our schedule. We're not focused on streaks or anything like that." Reynolds added "Those things are the byproduct of simply taking care of business, and I love the way our team is taking care of business." Reynolds ended.
Flagler vs.Augusta

The Short Story: The Saints are now the only undefeated team in the Peach Belt Conference after a huge sweep to the Jaguars Saturday afternoon.
OPENING VOLLEY
- Gia Lowe made 10 kills with a .280 hitting percentage. She produced two blocks and one dig.
- Gracie Fleming and Jolie Trudeau were a killer pair today with totaling 10 kills. Fleming had a .455 hitting percentage with three blocks, while Trudeau added one ace and five digs.
- Junior libero Emmi Cheek made a huge difference in defense with 10 digs and one assist along with senior Amelia Fitzpatrick with nine digs, one assist and an ace.
THE DIFFERENCE
- The Saints were able to out kill the Jaguars 16-13 in set one with a team hitting percentage on .256. The Saints were ahead in the beginning, going 4-1. With a 5-2 run, Flagler was still ahead going on 9-5. After the Jaguars started to creep back in the running, the two teams started to go back-and-forth. Until the Saints took a huge lead going 19-13 but, with a little bit of pressure from the Jaguars it wasn't enough to put the Saints down with Fleming ending the set with a kil to take it 25-21.
- Augusta wasn't going to go down easy, with the second set being awfully close with the Jaguars going ahead 10-12. It wasn't until the Saints pushed the gas, going on a huge seven-point run streak to go ahead 17-12. Flagler continued to apply pressure on Augusta with a 6-2-point run to take the Saints to match point that ended in a Jaguars error to end in the Saints favor of 25-17. Flagler was able to double the Jaguars kills of 12-6.
- Flagler had to dig down deep to take this final set. With both teams going back-and-forth, the Saints decided it was time to go ahead with a six-point run to make it 13-6. Even though the Jaguars were trying to make their way back, the Saints didn't allow it and went on a 6-2-point run going 20-12. Augusta was still trying to push back, but the Saints put their all into the final points with a match ending kill by Rank to make it 25-17. Although Augusta made more kills than Flagler (10-13), the Jaguars made nine errors to the Saints one with a .310 Saints hitting percentage.
NOTABLES
- The Saints are now the only team in the Peach Belt Conference that is undefeated, 3-0.
- This is now the best start through 15 games in school history since the rally scoring era.
