KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches announced the NCAA Division 2 men's soccer national rankings and the Flagler College men's soccer team checked in at No. 24. The Saints hold a 3-0-4 overall record, and 3-0-1 mark heading into week five of the season.
 
After opening the year ranked No. 15 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, the Saints have embarked on a fierce early stretch. Flagler went to Winter Park, Florida and turned in a 2-2 draw against Rollins, who was ranked No. 2 in the country at the time. Last week, the Saints hosted No. 2 North Georgia for a key conference match that resulted in a 3-3 draw.
 
Flagler remains in control of the PBC standings heading into week five, sitting in first place with 10 points. North Georgia is in second place with six points behind a 1-0-3 record in conference play.
 
The Saints backline efforts have led to a strong start. Senior goalkeeper Ryan Rivas was named PBC Goalkeeper of the Week on September 14th after tying the school record with 21 shutouts. The Fort Lauderdale native leads the conference in goals allowed (6) and ranks second in save percentage (.727). In addition to Rivas, sophomore defender Filip Hornburg is coming off PBC Defender of the Week honors last week. The Oslo, Norway native netted a goal in back-to-back games last week and helped the Saints to a 1-0-1 record.
 
Flagler will return to action on Wednesday, September 23^rd at Florida Southern. Kick off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. from Behrend Field. The Saints will return home on Saturday, September 26^th when they host Lander. Kick off is slated for 3:00 p.m. at Saints Field.
