SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Flagler College men's golf team opened the fall season on Monday with the 16^th annual Jay Jennison Cup hosted at the Slammer and Squire Golf Course at World Golf Village. Flagler used a dominant opening round, shooting a 278, which tied for the ninth-lowest single round score in tournament history to set the tone for a great afternoon. The Saints sit second in the field seven strokes behind Lynn heading into the final round tomorrow.
 
KEY STATS AND NOTES

• Rocco Randazzo started his senior season in dominant fashion, shooting a 67 and 69 in the first two rounds to rank tied for second heading into the final round. Randazzo capitalized with eight birdies, including an eagle on the eighth hole in the first round.
• Freshman Juan Saavedra opened his collegiate career with a 66 in the first round. The six-under performance was tied for the sixth-best round at the Jay Jennison Cup, and the second-best mark by a Flagler golfer in tournament history (Nic Eberhard; 65 in 2023).
• Julio Goti ended the day ranked tied for eighth after carding a 67 and 72 in the first two rounds. The junior posted 10 birdies on the afternoon.
• Senior Matthew French turned in a consistent afternoon at four-under behind nine birdies and 23 pars.
• Coming off a top 10 finish at the tournament last year, Masen McKain turned in a quality day, shooting three-under par after two rounds.
• Lucas Escudero, Dylan Mason, Grant Fisher, Josh Orgen, Santino Berengeno, and PJ Herron rounded out the Saints lineup and all sit in the top 50 after day one.
