ST. AUGUSTINE– Flagler College won its last regular season game against Georgia Southwestern State University, 5-2, in a Peach Belt Conference softball game Saturday afternoon at Flagler Field.
Flagler finished the regular season 14-35 overall and 10-17 in the Peach Belt. The Saints will be the No. 8 seed at next weekend's conference tournament. The Lady Hurricanes finished 19-33 overall and 6-21 in conference play.
Stephanie Daly's two-run double in the fifth inning broke up a 2-all tie and
Ryleigh Hall followed with an RBI-single for insurance.
Georgia Southwestern took the lead in the second with a two-run homer to center by Peyton Namyslowski.
Riley Rowe (8-14) finished the game in relief and tossed 5.1 scoreless innings with two hits to grab the win. She produced seven fly outs and ground outs with two strikeouts and retired 16 of the 21 batters. Rowe retired 9-of-the-last-11 batters she faced.
Pyper McCard (7-11) took the loss in relief. She allowed three runs on three hits in two innings.
Daly had a double and three runs batted in. McQuillan went 1-for-2 with a double and scored twice. Ricci had a single and scored two runs.
Hannah Smith had a single and scored one run.
Maggie McDonald went 2-for-3 with a double and scored once.
