ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College's
George Gilson and
CJ Hanson were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and the D2 (CCA Conference Commissioners Association) All-Southeast Region teams.
Gilson was a first-team all-region selection by both outlets after finishing with a .395 batting average with 79 hits, including 23 doubles, five triples, and 13 home runs. The Jacksonville, Florida native also drove in 567 runs and scored 63 more. He posted a .755 slugging percentage to go along with a .475 on-base percentage. Gilson also stole a team-high 34 bases. He was selected as the Peach Belt Conference's Player of the Year and was a first-team all-conference pick. Gilson was named the PBC Player of the Week twice and took home region player of the week honors on Feb. 16.
Hanson was a first-team all-region selection by D2CCA and was a second-team all-region pick by the NCBWA. He led the staff with a 2.77 earned run average and posted an 8-2 record in 14 starts. Hanson tossed two complete games and tossed one shutout. He struck out 83 batters in 91 innings pitched and held the opposition to a .235 batting average. Hanson was a first-team all-conference selection. He was a two-time PBC Pitcher of the Week (Feb. 16 and April 6).
