MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Flagler College men's lacrosse team defeated Lander University, 15-11, in the semifinal round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament this evening at the Track and Field and Lacrosse Stadium.
Since beginning as a program in 2022, Flagler has won their opening round of the conference tournament. Flagler will take on the host school, the University of Montevallo, on Sunday at 1 p.m. In its last meeting, Flagler fell to Montevallo 15-14 in the regular season finale.
A senior led match,
Ben Nyberg and
Trace McDonald finished with a match high four points. Nyberg notched his fourth three or more goal game, scoring three. McDonald was joined by
Griffin Moore,
Micah Quinn,
Jack Pilla and
Will Linko to score two goals.
A career day on defense, the Bearcats had 29 turnovers with the Saints causing 12. Ty Schekenbach finished with the best game of his career, causing five turnovers and scooping four ground balls.
John Kersey finished, with three caused turnovers and ground balls. At face-off,
Mitchell Lynch finished with the best performance from the Saints, finishing with four wins.
