No. 3 Saints take down the Knights on "Senior Day"

Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - This afternoon the No. 3 Flagler College men's tennis team capped off their regular season play with a 5-2 victory of Middle Georgia State University at the Pollard Tennis Center.

A day full of emotion, the Saints honored their senior, Ilian Borlee as well as the 2025 team for their Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship. At the conclusion of doubles play, the Saints took a brief intermission to celebrate the career of Borlee for the annual Senior Day ceremony. Following that, the Saints were awarded their conference championship rings.

Finishing at 16-3 and 5-1 in conference, the Saints will head off to Columbus State University this upcoming weekend for the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Play begins on Friday, April 24, at the John C. Walden Tennis Center in Columbus, Ga. Locking in the No. 2 seed, Flagler will face No. 7 Georgia College & State University in the quarterfinal round.

Doubles began with a sweep for Flagler. Borlee and Malis kicked off the match with a 6-2 win over Duarte Mestre and Alejandro Vizoso. To clinch, Aniss Rafiq and Filip Kana defeated Vicente Faria and Nick Dufner, 6-4. Rounding out the last match was Noah Paterson and Aly El Rafie who defeated Daniel Suarez Garcia and Alexandr Achour 6-3.

Kana was the first to get up with his 6-1 and 6-2 match against Michal Glocman. No. 19 Malis stayed undefeated on the day as he won 6-2 and 6-3 over Achour. No. 54 Raphael Rousson put Flagler over the Knights with his 6-2 and 6-4 match against Faria. Closing out was No. 48 El Rafie who defeated Mestre 6-1 and 7-6.
