ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Four Saints in
Aly El Rafie,
Aniss Rafiq,
Oliver Hradilek and
Jules Alias were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association(ITA) Scholar Athletes earlier this week, according to organization officials. Flagler College was named an ITA All-Academic Team.
For an individual to be named an ITA Scholar Athlete, a student must finish the academic year with a 3.5 minimum grade point average(GPA) on a 4.0 scale and be eligible to compete during their season. All-Academic Teams are awarded to institutions who, cumulatively, finish with a 3.2 minimum GPA among all eligible athletes.
While possessing a 3.37 GPA, Flagler is one of 70 institutions to receive this distinction. Among Peach Belt Conference affiliated schools, Flagler is one of four institutes to earn All-Academic. The Saints are joined by Lander University, Columbus State University and Georgia College & State University.Â
El Rafie earned his third consecutive distinction after finishing with a 3.51 GPA. Alias notched the highest GPA this academic year for Flagler with a 3.63. True Freshman Hradilek finished with a 3.61 while
Aniss Rafiq finished with a 3.55.
