MONTEVALLO, Ala. - For the sixth time this season, the No. 1 Flagler College women's lacrose team dropped 20 or more points as they defeated University of Montevallo, 23-4 this afternoon.
The Saints remain one of the few Division II institutions still undefeated, as they advance to 16-0 on the season. Within the conference, the Saints are 4-0 and will have their last regular season contest against the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Saturday, Apr. 18 at 11 AM.
Through their four conference matches, the Saints have averaged 23.5 goals a game while allowing an average 3.75 goals against. With another six point performance,
Jessica Wright averages three and a half goals and two assists per game. Wright finished with a match hiigh four goals and two assists.
Across the board, the Saints upperclassmen dominated the offense.
Carley Tepel,
Ella Pinder and
Kylie Budke each finished with a hat trick. Eight remaining Saints scored at least one goal. In assists, six Saints in
Ava Lambros,
Martha Halford, Tepel,
Taylor Jendrek and
Izzy Campos each had two. Defensively, Flagler smothered the Falcons. Turning the ball over 18 times, the Saints were responsible for 13 of those. At draw control,
Greta McGinnis finished with a match high 10 wins.
