ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - In the regular season finale for the No. 1 ranked Flagler College women's lacrosse team, the Saints defeated No. 23 University of Alabama in Huntsville, 18-7, this afternoon at the lacrosse field.
To crown themselves Gulf South Conference regular season champions, Flagler finished with a perfect 5-0 record and extend their overall record to 17-0. The Chargers dropped to 9-8 and 4-1 overall. Flagler will compete for the GSC tournament title next week in Huntsville, Ala.
For the first time all season, Flagler trailed exiting the first period. A six goal run and seven total goal second period gave the Saints back possession of the game. Highlighted by another
Jessica Wright show, the senior attackman scored the Saints first three goals, all unassisted, and went on to finish with six goals and two assists. This is Wright's third time scoring eight or more points in a single game this season.
Ava Lambros had her best game since Mar. 14 against Newberry College. Lambros scored four goals on six shots and this was the third time this season she scored four or more goals. Senior Carly Tepel finished with four points as well, recording two goals and two assists.

Jenn Seebach led both teams with three caused turnovers. Flagler accounted for seven of the 12 Charger turnovers. Four remaining Saints caused one turnover.
Maddy Hartsock picked up three ground balls to lead the match while
Molly Sloan and
Ella Pinder found two. Pinder would also finish with a team high five draw controls, trailed by
Greta McGinnis and
Taylor Jendrek's three. Notching eight saves,
Dakota Capolino finished with a .533 save percentage.
