Saints lost in 10 innings to Pacers

Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – Kaylee Boldings's double in the top of the 10th inning scored Chloe Webb from second base to give the University of South Carolina Aiken a 6-5 lead over Flagler College, and that would go on to be the final, in a Peach Belt Conference softball game Sunday afternoon at Flagler Field.

USCA increased to 15-10 overall and 2-1 in the Peach Belt. Flagler dropped to 5-15 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Up next for the Saints is a three-game conference series at Middle Georgia State University. Flagler and Middle Georgia open with a single game on Friday at 6 p.m. at Knights Field.

Webb hit a double to right center with one out in the 10th. Bolding followed with a double down the left field line to score Webb.

Emily Ricci started the rally in the bottom of the 10th with a single through the left side with one out. Olivia Burns was able to move Ricci to second when she reached first on an error by the first baseman. USC Aiken reliever Abbie Kegley (9-4) stranded the two runners as she retired the last two batters.

Kegley came in during the third inning and grabbed the win. She allowed three earned runs on five hits in 7.1 innings. Kegley struck out four strikeouts, induced four flyouts and 13 more ground outs.

Autumn Fisher socked two home runs. She had three runs batted in and scored two runs.

Ava Matthews (2-3) took the loss in relief. She surrendered one run on three hits in five innings.

Kiley McQuillan led the Flagler offense with three singles and one RBI.
