Men’s golf ranked No. 8 in second region poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Flagler College men's golf team is ranked No. 8 according to the second of three published NCAA Division II regional rankings, which came out Friday afternoon. The final published ranking will occur on April 10.

Selections for regional competition will be on April 25 and the South/Southeast Regional will be played May 7-9 at the Valdosta Country Club in Valdosta, Georgia. There are three other regionals to be played during the same time period. A total of eighty teams, along with 32 individuals will be selected for regional competition.

Georgia Southwestern State University tops the rankings. They are followed by Wingate University and Catawba College. Columbus State University and the University of North Georgia are ranked Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. Lincoln Memorial University checks in at No. 6 while USC Aiken follows at No. 7. USC Beaufort follows Flagler at No. 9 while Lander University (No. 10) and Lenoir-Rhyne University (No. 11) wraps up the ranking.      

The South Region has the University of West Florida at No. 1. Florida Southern College and Nova Southeastern University follow at Nos. 2 and 3. Lee University is No. 4. Five straight Sunshine State Conference schools occupy the next five spots – Barry University (No. 5), Saint Leo University (No. 6), Rollins College (No. 7), Palm Beach Atlantic University (No. 8), and Lynn University (No. 9). Valdosta State University is ranked No. 10 and Eckerd College rounds it out at No. 11.     

Flagler is ranked No. 26 according to the latest SCOREBOARD by clippd national rankings, which were released last Wednesday. Nic Eberhard is ranked No. 77.
