Saints finish in third place at Shark Invite

Herron and French tie for third at -5

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Flagler College men's golf team finished in a tie for third place with a 9-under par 843 (277-281-285) at the Shark Invitational, which finished today at the Grande Oaks Golf Club (par 71; 6,750 yards).  

Flagler closes out the regular season with the Argonaut Invitational, March 30-31, at Pensacola, Florida.

Matthew French and PJ Herron were part of a three-way tie for third place with a 5-under 208. For both, it was their first top-five finish of their careers. French jumped 11 spots on the leaderboard thanks to a 2-under 69 in the final round to give him a career-low 208. He birdied two holes and parred the rest. Herron shot a 2-over 73 in today's final round. He finished with three birdies and 10 pars in the final round.  

No. 4 (SCOREBOARD by clippd ranking) Florida Southern College started the day 15 strokes back and shot a 7-under 277 to finish atop the 15-team field with a 21-under 831 (278-276-277). No. 15 Nova Southeastern University, the host school, turned in a 12-over 296 in today's final round and finished second with a 17-under 835 (273-266-296).

Colton Swartz of Florida Southern took home medalist honors as he led the 84-man field with an 11-under 202 (66-67-69). Bruno Marques of Nova Southeastern finished in second place with a 6-under 207 (71-65-71).

Nic Eberhard and Masen McKain finished in a tie for 26th place with a 2-over 215. Rocco Randazzo shot a 16-over 229.
