GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Flagler College men's golf team finished in a tie for second place with a 17-under par 847 (283-280-284) at the Greenwood Men's Invitational, which concluded today at the Greenwood Country Club (par 72; 6,800 yards).
The 54-hole score was the best by the Saints this year and the best since carding an 836 at the Bearcat Classic, March 4, 2024, at the same golf course. Up next for Flagler is the Shark Invitational, March 23-24, at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
PJ Herron finished in a tie for eighth place with a 6-under 210 (69-71-70) for his first career top 10 finish.
Rocco Randazzo finished in a tie for 10
th place with a 5-under 211 (71-69-71), which was his first top 10 of the year and second in his career.
No. 1 (SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25) Grand Valley State University topped the 18-team field by three strokes with a 20-under 844 (279-285-280). The University of Findlay tied Flagler for second place with a 17-under 847 (285-287-275). Barton College followed in fourth place with a 4-under 860 (283-285-292). Anderson University finished in fifth place with a 3-under 861 (291-280-290).
Bryce Wheeler of Grand Valley State and Owen Kinnunen of Southern Wesleyan both shot an 11-under 205. Wheeler won a one-hole playoff with a birdie.
Matthew French carded a 3-under 213 (75-70-68) to finish in 16
th place. His final round 4-under 68 was a career-best.
Masen McKain finished in a tie for 25
th place with a 1-under 215 (69-70-76).
Santino Berengeno finished in 46
th place with a 4-over 220 (74-71-75). Julio Gotti, playing as an individual, shot a 7-over 223.
