ST. AUGUSTINE - For the first time in program history, the Flagler College women's lacrosse team entered the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association's (IWLCA) top five, being named No. 5 the latest coaches poll, per organization officials this afternoon.
The Saints are joined in the top five with new No. 1 Florida Southern College, No. 2 University of Indianapolis, No. 3 Tampa University and No. 4 Maryville University. On Thursday, Feb. 26, the Saints will host Florida Southern at 7 p.m.
Off to a record year, the Saints are 4-0 for the first time in program history. Through their four games this season, the Saints have defeated two ranked opponents. Against unranked opponents, Flagler's defense has held their oponnents to an average 1.5 goals a game.
