Flagler moved up four spots in latest IWLCA poll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Flagler College women's lacrosse team moved up to No. 8 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Top 25 poll, which was released Monday afternoon.

Flagler was ranked No. 12 in the preseason poll.

The Saints have dominated the competition so far, including a pair of wins against nationally ranked teams. Flagler opened the year with a 17-1 rout of Emmanuel College of Georgia. They followed that with an 18-11 road victory over then-No. 10 Saint Leo University. The Saints raced by No. 24 Florida Tech 18-9 at the Flagler Lacrosse Field. Flagler is coming off a 24-2 pasting of Saint Michael's College last Sunday. Flagler hosts the Scottish National Team this Saturday at noon.   

The University of Indianapolis (1-0) leapt from No. 5 to the top of the poll this week. The Greyhounds knocked off the defending national champions, the University of Tampa, 10-6. Adelphi University (0-0) held at No. 2. Tampa (1-1) dropped to No. 3. Florida Southern College (2-0) dropped one spot to No. 4. West Chester University (0-0) slipped one spot to No. 5.    

Other teams ranked nationally from the GSC are No. 24 The University of Alabama at Huntsville (2-2) and No. 25 Lander University (0-1).
