Flagler opens the spring with a sixth-place finish at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College finished in sixth place with a 36-over par 900 (294-303-303) at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, which finished this afternoon at the St. Johns Golf & Country Club (par 72; 7,136 yards).

The Saints are back on the course March 9-10 at the Greenwood Men's Invitational at Greenwood, South Carolina.

Nic Eberhard was the top golfer for the Saints as he finished in a tie for 11th place with a 5-over 221 (74-71-76). He finished the tournament with an eagle, seven birdies, and 34 pars.

No. 8 (SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25) St. Mary's University of Texas led wire-to-wire, finishing atop the 18-team field with a 1-over 865 (287-287-291). No. 18 University of North Georgia followed in second place 10 strokes back with an 11-over 875 (295-288-292). No. 10 Catawba College and No. 7 Georgia Southwestern State University tied for third place with a 24-over 888. No. 6 Wingate University rounded out the top five with a 28-over 892 (301-302-289). Seven teams are ranked in the SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25.

There was a tie atop the 99-man field for medalist honors. Baptiste Touchard of St. Mary's and Ilia Antoniadis of Catawba finished with a 1-under 215. Touchard won the first playoff hole by two strokes. Colby Benett of North Georgia finished in third place with an even par 216 (74-71-71). There was a three-way tie for fourth place at 1-over.

PJ Herron finished in a tie for 19th place with an 8-over 224 (74-76-74). Matthew French tied for 37th place with a 12-over 228 (72-78-78).  Dylan Mason carded a 16-over 232 while Rocco Randazzo, playing as an individual, shot a 21-over 237. Masen McKain carded a 26-over 242.
