TURNING POINT
In a Division I sanctioned race, the Saints faced a plethora of talent including institutions like Jacksonville State University, University of North Alabama, Troy University and host FSU. Flagler was one of three Division II representatives as they were joined by University of Tampa and Valdosta State University. Despite the unfavorable rain fall and mud, the 8k course gave the Saints their first glimpse at the official distance for the Peach Belt Conference Championship. Pack running, the Saints who were led by Hollins, Andy Munnik and
Axel Dabe, maintained strong form which held out to the end as their top five finished in the top-25 overall.
"We have some positives we can take from today, as well as areas we can learn from and apply to our races moving forward," Head Coach
Brian Beil said. "As a team we did a very good job of staying together early, which was a point of emphasis. Although, we'll need to be more aggressive in the early portion, but that's an easy adjustment to make".
