ST. AUGUSTINE - The Flagler College women's lacrosse team, highlighted by eleven different goal scorers, led the Saints to a 17-1 win against Emmanuel University (Ga.) this evening at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
Sharing a season opener, the Saints advanced to a 1-0 start while the Lions fell to 0-1. Flagler will return to action next week, Feb. 7 where they will travel to Saint Leo University at 5 p.m. at the University Turf Stadium.
Led by a plethora of goal scorers,
Jessica Wright and
Taylor Jendrek, the Saints came out to an early 11-0 lead. Capping off the first quarter, Wright finished a match high four points, two goals and two assists while Jendrek finished with two assists and one goal.
Virginia Fisher joined the two as the only Saints to register two or more assists.

Carley Tepel,
Carly Bagnasco and
Maya Elwood joined Wright as the only Saints to score twice.
Causing 12 total turnovers, Freshman
Charlotte Harrington led the defensive front with a match-high three while also finding a match-high four groundballs. With three goalies seeing action, Freshman
Tessa Winslow finished with a team high three saves while
Dakota Capolino finished with a perfect save percentage, saving her lone shot against.
Demi Czynski was the lone Lion to score. Avery Jennings and Sydney Nicholson tied for a team high one caused turnover. In at keeper, Emily Dawson found a match high seven saves.
