VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Flagler College women's cross country team, led by freshman
Natalie Bowman, won the Valdosta State University Border Clash Friday evening.
In a pool of 104 runners the Saints reeled in a strong team showing, taking second individually as well as fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and tenth. Lead by a cast of underclassman, Bowman was the VSU Border Clash runner-up, with a time of 20:10.9.
Blair Fowler was the second Saint to crack the top five, placing fourth in 20:24.7. Fellow freshman Belicia O'Grady and Caroline Kunik placed fifth and seventh, in 20:35.8 and 21:10.5. Jessie Gates and
Tori Mills rounded out the top 10 with Gates placing sixth in 20:54.7 and Mills placing 10th in 21:26.7.Â
The Saints will return to action on Sept. 20 at the Bulldog Stampede, hosted by Wingate University.
