MIAMI SHORES, Fla. –
Tim Wahlborg scored with under 35 seconds left to go as Flagler College came away with a 2-2 tie against Barry University in a non-conference men's soccer match Thursday evening at Buccaneer Field.
Both teams played its season opener tonight. Flagler takes on Nova Southeastern University on Saturday at Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 6 p.m.
Wahlborg split a pair of Barry defenders at the top of the box and tucked his shot inside the right post, just evading the Buccaneer goalkeeper. The Saints were playing down one man.
Oliver Lindstrom had an unassisted goal in the 57
th minute to tie the game at 1-all.
Aidan de Gannes scored the first goal of the game for Barry in the 55
th minute. Stefan Momcilovic gave the Buccaneers a 2-1 lead in the 80
th minute.
Filip Hornburg led the way for Flagler with four shots.
Reiss Skeen and
Henry Okenla each added three. Momcilovic led Barry with four shots.
Ryan Rivas collected three saves for the Saints while Djordje Mihajlovic finished with seven for the Buccaneers.
Flagler out-shot Barry 19-11, but the Buccaneers held a slight 3-2 advantage in corner kicks. Barry was whistled for 12 fouls while Flagler had 10.
