KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches released its Week 10 NCAA Division II national poll Tuesday afternoon, and the Flagler College men's soccer team climbed to No. 9 in the nation. The ranking marks the Saints' highest national position since 2013.

Flagler put together a historic 2026 regular season, posting a 12-1-4 overall record and an 11-0-1 mark in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play. The Saints' 11 conference victories set a new PBC record for wins in a season. Flagler also closed the regular season on a nine-match winning streak, its longest since 2002. Along the way, the Saints captured their third PBC regular-season championship and first since 2011, earning the top seed in the upcoming PBC Tournament.

The Saints were also well represented in the conference's postseason awards, announced last week. Head Coach Thomas Coombes was named PBC Coach of the Year, becoming the first Flagler men's soccer coach to receive the honor since John Lynch in 2015.

Finn Weigelt earned PBC Offensive Player of the Year honors after leading the Saints with 23 points on a team-high 11 goals. He was also named First Team All-PBC and shared the Select Gold Ball Award. On the defensive end, sophomore Filip Hornburg was named PBC Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. A five-time PBC Defender of the Week, Hornburg helped the Saints record six clean sheets while contributing four goals and an assist.

Tim Wahlborg, Dani Freire, and Daniel Becerra also earned First Team All-PBC recognition. Wahlborg recorded six goals and two assists, while Freire tied for the conference lead with five assists. Becerra appeared in 13 matches, recording three shutouts while contributing two goals and an assist.

Juniors Henry Okenla and Callum Stokes rounded out the Saints' postseason award winners with Second Team All-PBC selections. Okenla made 15 appearances, primarily off the bench, and recorded five goals and an assist. Stokes returned from injury during the second half of the season, appearing in 10 matches and contributing one goal and four assists.

The NCAA also released its latest NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings, a statistical system used to evaluate teams for at-large championship selections and tournament seeding. Flagler checked in at No. 11 nationally and ranked second in the region behind Catawba.

Flagler returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 4, as the Saints host USC Aiken in the PBC Tournament semifinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Saints Field. The match will be streamed on the Peach Belt Conference Sports Network. Tournament coverage is available on a pay-per-view basis for $10. Flagler College students can receive a 50% discount by using their Flagler email address and entering the code FLAG^V25. The discount is available to the first 50 students.
