Flagler volleyball releases 2025 schedule

6/9/2025 8:15:00 PM

ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College head volleyball coach Jeff Reynolds, and the defending Peach Belt Conference Tournament champion, have officially released the 2024 schedule, which features 12 home matches, including the Flagler Invitational.

The Saints will play 31 matches during the regular season. Since becoming a full NCAA Division II member in 2008, Flagler has posted a 150-55 record, a winning percentage of .732, in home matches. The Saints will face seven teams that played in the NCAA Division II Tournament last year.

"We have worked hard to put together a very balanced schedule, including games against some of the top teams in the country," said Reynolds. "We are excited to have the opportunity to compete against the likes of Metropolitan State University-Denver and the defending national champion, Lynn University, as well as teams like the University of Missouri St. Louis. Matches like these will help us determine where we are and how much work we have left to do in order to be listed among the top teams in the nation."

The regular season opens with the Bahama House Classic at Daytona Beach, Florida, Sept. 5-6. The Saints will face the University of Sioux Falls, Metro State-Denver, the University of Montevallo, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Flagler opens with Sioux Falls and follows that with a match against an MSU-Denver team that advanced to the sweet 16 last year and was ranked No. 7 in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. Embry-Riddle, the host school, finished just outside the final top 25 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The next weekend, Flagler hosts its annual Flagler Invitational at Flagler Gymnasium, Sept. 11-13. The Saints host Ashland University, Embry-Riddle, Lees-McRae College, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Newberry College. Flagler opens the tournament on Sept. 11 against Ashland at 8 p.m. The Saints host Lees-McRae and Lenoir-Rhyne the following day and then wrap up the tourney with Newberry on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.

"We are looking forward to hosting the Flagler Invitational," said Reynolds. "We have some solid regional teams coming in, as well as Ashland University from Ohio. It will be great to welcome these teams to our wonderful city and have our fans get to see our team compete over three straight days."

The Hyatt Place Bash at the Beach follows on Sept. 19-20. The tournament is split between Lynn University (Friday) and Palm Beach Atlantic University (Saturday). The Saints take on the University of Missouri-St. Louis and then faces Lynn on the first day of the tournament. Flagler takes on Lee University and Palm Beach Atlantic on Sept. 20.

Flagler heads to Rollins College for a match at Winter Park, Florida on Sept. 24 and then ventures to South Carolina for the weekend. The Saints face former PBC-rival Francis Marion on Sept. 26 and then opens conference play the next day at USC Aiken who played in the regional last year.

"With the addition of Middle Georgia State University to the Peach Belt lineup, we have a solid conference schedule again this year, as we will face each Peach Belt team three different times during the regular season," said Reynolds. "There are certainly some challenges with that from a competitive standpoint, but we look forward to the challenge."

The Saints open the month of October with three matches in three days. They visit Edward Waters University on Oct. 2 and then head to Macon, Georgia to take on the newest conference member, Middle Georgia State University, on Oct. 3. The Saints close the 10-match road trip with Augusta University on Oct. 4. The Jaguars advanced to the semifinal round of the regional tournament.

Flagler returns home for four matches. Lander University, the defending PBC regular season champion and region final participant, visits on Oct. 10 and Georgia College & State University follows the next day. USC Aiken comes to the Ancient City for a pair of matches on Oct. 17 and 18.

A quick road trip to play Georgia College twice (Oct. 24-25) and Saint Leo University nearly closes out the month.

The last regular season homestand sees Augusta coming to Flagler Gym on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Middle Georgia visits for the first time on Nov. 7 and 8.

A road trip to Lander, Nov. 14-15, closes out the regular season.

The PBC Tournament will be held Nov. 21-23 at the regular season champion.
