HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – No. 34 (SCOREBOARD Division II ranking, powered by clippd) Flagler College is in a tie for ninth place after carding a 5-over par 293 in the first round of the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional, which was played this afternoon at the Mission Inn Resort – El Campeon (par 72; 6,960 yards). The second round begins tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. and the Saints will start teeing off at 11:40 a.m.
 
Joel Petersson leads the Flagler team with a 3-under 69 and is in a seven-way tie for second place just two shots back of the lead. He had three birdies and four pars on the front nine and was 1-under at the turn. Petersson added two birdies and seven pars on the back nine.

No. 10 Florida Southern College sits atop the 20-team with an 8-over 280. No. 13 Columbus State University is in second place just four shots back with a 4-under 284. No. 4 University of North Georgia is third with a 3-under 285. No. 14 Wingate University is fourth with a 2-under 286. No. 9 USC Aiken is fifth with a 1-under 287.

Leading the 108-man field is Maxile Barile of Florida Southern. He shot a 5-under 67.

Nic Eberhard is tied for 24^th place with an even par 72. Dylan Mason and Rocco Randazzo are at +4 while Tomas Cavanagh finished at +6 for the Saints.
