HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – No. 34 (SCOREBOARD Division II ranking, powered by clippd) Flagler College finished in 18
th place after carding a 31-over par 895 (293-304-298) at the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional, which ended this afternoon at the Mission Inn Resort – El Campeon (par 72; 6,960 yards).
Nic Eberhard finished in a tie for 33
rd place to lead the Saints. He shot a 2-over 218 (72-73-73). Eberhard recorded eight birdies and made 37 pars in the 54-hole tournament.
No. 4 University of North Georgia coasted to the regional title with a 28-under 836 (285-273-278). Finishing a distant second was No. 14 Wingate University. The Bulldogs carded a 4-under 860 (286-283-291). No. 2 University of West Florida finished in third place with a 3-under 861 (289-289-283). Those three teams along with No. 13 Columbus State University, No. 7 Lee University, No. 3 Lincoln Memorial University, and No. 10 Florida Southern College advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship, May 19-23, at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Florida Southern advanced after winning a one-hole playoff against No. 9 USC Aiken.
There was a tie atop the 105-man field as Jack Vajda of North Georgia and Brandon Skidmore of Wingate each finished with a 10-under 206. Vajda won the one-hole playoff by one stroke. Asmund Norman of King University finished in third place with a 9-under 207 (69-66-72). He advanced to the national championship along with Felipe Gomez of Georgia Southwestern State University. He finished in sixth place with a 6-under 210 (72-69-69). They were the two lowest individuals in the field on teams not advancing.
Joel Petersson shot a 5-over 221 (69-78-74) and tied for 51
st place.
Dylan Mason finished in a tie for 89
th place with a 13-over 229 (76-77-76).
Rocco Randazzo shot a 15-over 231 (76-80-75).
Tomas Cavanagh played in the first two rounds while
Matthew French played in the final round.
