Five Saints named USILA All-Region

ST. AUGUSTINE - The historic season continues for the Flagler College men's lacrosse team as Tyler Douglass leads the five Saints named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division II All-South Region, released this morning.

Douglass continued his career season with a second team all-region honor. He led the Saints in goals with 37 and was second on the team in points with 41. The Peach Belt Conference Midfielder of the Year finished his career with 157 points with most of those coming from his 121 goals. Just shy of 100 ground balls, Douglass had 90, with 18 this season.

Trace McDonald and Brandon Grusholt were named third team all-region. McDonald is 13th in the nation in assists per game with 2.24. Tallying 38 total assists and 29 goals, he averaged 3.94 points per game, placing 38th in the nation. This season, McDonald tied his career-high for points in one game at seven. He scored his 200th career point and his 111th assist this season. Grusholt is second on the team in caused turnovers with 27 and fourth in ground balls with 39. As a defender, Grusholt has scored four goals, one of which came against No. 20 (USILA) Westminster University (Utah).

On the honorable mention team, Gordon Ogden III and Jack Pilla were named. As a long stick midfielder, Ogden was dominant both on the wing and on defense. Ogden picked up a team-high 56 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers. Offensively, he found three assists and scored one goal. Pilla saw action in 16 games this season. Across those matches, Pilla found 26 points, 22 of those were goals. In Flagler's first game against Lander University, he scored a season-high five goals with seven shots on goal.
