AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Flagler College men's lacrosse team was picked as the preseason favorites according to the Peach Belt Conference Coaches' Poll that was released this afternoon by conference officials.

Jack Pilla,
Ben Nyberg,
Griffin Moore, and
Gordon Ogden III were selected to the preseason all-conference team.
Flagler was the unanimous pick to win the PBC this season as it received four first-place votes. Coaches cannot vote for their own team.
The Saints posted a 14-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the Peach Belt. Flagler advanced to the PBC Tournament final.
The University of Montevallo picked up the other first-place vote and was selected to finish second. Lander University, The University of Alabama at Huntsville, and Virginia State University were picked Nos. 3-5.
McDonald, a senior attacker, was an honorable mention All-American by the USILA and USA Lacrosse last year. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native earned first-team all-conference honors after scoring 29 goals and tallying 38 assists.
Pilla, a redshirt junior long stick midfielder, was an honorable mention USILA All-South Region selection. The Ashburn, Virginia native took home first-team all-conference accolades after scoring 22 goals and collecting 23 ground balls.
Nyberg, a senior attacker, was a second-team all-conference selection. The Chantilly, Virginia native scored 29 goals and scooped up 30 ground balls.
Moore, a junior midfielder, scored 16 goals and tallied eight assists. The Winter Park, Florida native earned academic all-conference honors.
Ogden, a long stick midfielder, was an honorable mention USILA All-South Region selection. The Shrewsbury, New Jersey native earned first-team all-conference honors after collecting 56 ground balls.
The Saints open the season on the road Jan. 31 against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The home opener is Feb. 14 against the University of Tampa at 1 p.m. The conference opener is March 21 at UAH.
