MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Eli Maddox was selected to the D2CCA NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region first-team team, according to a release this morning.

The first-team selections will move on to the All-America ballot. The D2CCA All-America programs honor student-athletes in Division II athletic programs. The mission of the CCA is to encourage and promote Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.
The voting, nomination and calculations are all conducted by the school's sports information directors. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.

Maddox, a redshirt sophomore utility player, led the Saints with a .386 batting average, had 66 hits, six home runs, 41 runs batted in, and 93 total bases. The Orange Park, Florida native finished with a team-high .544 slugging percentage and a .459 on-base percentage. Maddox was a first-team All-Peach Belt Conference selection. He was the designated hitter for most of the 48 games he played this year, but he also started a handful of games behind the plate and at first base. Maddox collected a season-high four hits, including one double, and he drove in two runs in the third game of the season against The University of Alabama in Huntsville (Feb. 1). He had a 13-game hitting streak from March 1-22. In that streak, Maddox went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and a season-best six runs batted in.

Flagler finished the season with a 30-20 overall record and a 13-14 mark in the Peach Belt.
