Four Saints named USA Lacrosse All-American

ST. AUGUSTINE - Four Saints from the Flagler College women's lacrosse team were named to the USA Lacrosse Division II All-America teams, according to a release on Friday.

In previous years, the program has not seen more than one Saint given All-America honors. With new heights, the program earned its first-ever first team All-American in Jenn Seebach, as well as three others named honorable mention.

Seebach led the Saints in both caused turnovers and ground balls with 23 and 37, respectively. Her best performance of the year came during Flagler's match against the University of Montevallo where she caused four turnovers and scooped two ground balls. Seebach had four games this season where she found four ground balls, with one of those games being against No. 12 (IWLCA) Kutztown University.

Sydney Onega, Carley Tepel, and Ella Pinder all earned honorable mention honors. Earlier this season Onega was named the Gulf South Conference Attacker of the Year after leading the conference in points and assists. She scored a season and career-high eight points against Lee University in the first round of the GSC Championship. Onega had 41 assists and 42 goals this year. Against NCAA opponents, Onega is tied for 25th in the nation in assists with 36 and is tied for 22nd with 2.0 per game.

Pinder was named to first team All-GSC after scoring 32 goals and finding 10 assists. In draw controls, Pinder was first among the Saints and fourth in the conference with 56, averaging 2.95 a game. Defensively, she caused a career high 11 turnovers over the season and found 15 ground balls. 

For the second time in her career, Tepel was named an All-American. With a shooting percentage of .533, Tepel scored a conference and team-high 57 goals. Finding 12 assists, she is second on the team and conference in total points. Tepel also led the Saints in game-winning goals with six.
