ST. AUGUSTINE - The Flagler College women's lacrosse team set a new program high with five players named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) All-South Region this afternoon.
The all-region team is comprised of 16 athletes on the both the first and second teams, with 128 total across four regions. In the region, 10 teams were represented with both Florida Southern College and the University of Tampa holding the athletes represented at six each. The Saints had the second-most players to receive recognition.
Sydney Onega,
Ella Pinder and
Jenn Seebach were all named to the first team. Onega led the Gulf South Conference in points per game and assists per game. Tallying 83 total points and averaging 2.16 assists, Onega was named the GSC Attacker of the Year.
Ella Pinder tied her career high goals in a season with 32. Being named to the GSC first team, Pinder was dominant at the draw control, averaging 2.95 per game and placing fourth in the conference with 56. Seebach was the face of the Saints defense. Seebach led the Saints in both caused turnovers with 23 and ground balls with 37. In conference, Seebach ranked seventh in averaging 1.26 caused turnovers per game and sixth in total ground balls.
Molly Sloan and
Carley Tepel was named to the second team. Sloan started every game for the Saints. She finished second on the team in ground balls with 37. Sloan also caused nine turnovers. Tepel was one of the Saints big three on the attack line. Scoring a conference-high 57 goals, Tepel averaged three goals per game. In total points, Tepel was second in the conference with 69, averaging 3.63 per game.
