RALEIGH, N.C. - Flagler College's
Taylor Stone turned in another strong performance, this time at the Raleigh Relays, held at Paul Derr Track and Field Facility this past weekend.
Competing against top tier Division I institutes such as the University of Notre Dame, Duke University, the University of Virginia and Iowa State University, Flagler sent three athletes to compete in two events. Stone competed in the two events, the 800 meter run and the 1500 meter run, while Abigail Misch joined on in the 800.
Monique Whiteman led the long distance bout, competing in the 5000 meter run.
Picking up where she left off, Stone placed 39th out of 165 runners in the 800. In 2:09.36, Stone now leaves North Carolina holding the ninth fastest time in Division II this season. In the 1500 meter race, Stone also finished 39th out of 227 runners. With a time of 4:21.45, Stone holds the fifth fastest time in the D2 this season.
Nearing her personal best, Misch wrapped up her 800m race in a time of 2:12.74, earning her a 85th place finish. In the 5K, Whiteman placed 164th in a time of 17:38.25.
